During this extremely challenging commercial and economic Covid-19 affected period that we find ourselves in, it is more important than ever for brands to keep front of mind and communicate with their target consumer audiences, particularly when a new product or service is being launched to market.

Traditional brand to hand sampling opportunities have been narrowed, with experiential face to face brand marketing initiatives being curtailed due to social distancing measures, and other consumer facing Covid-19 imposed restrictions.

At Confero we are always looking to focus on the solution rather than the problem. Throughout the lockdown period we have continued to provide brands with the opportunity to reach, and engage with customers in their own homes by distributing product samples and associated promotional materials to customers shopping and making purchases online.

Our ‘Online Sampling’ concept allows brands and services the opportunity to sample their products, distribute promotional offers and where appropriate, include tied-in digital social media hosted competitions. Samples are distributed directly to homes in the parcel deliveries of customers making online purchases through their favourite fashion retailers, and most recently through a number of food and health related retailer networks. This allows brands to ‘surprise and delight’ consumers, and reach audience’s in their own homes in a contextually relevant, positive, uplifting and effective way.

We are delighted to have just recently completed a sampling campaign for Mars Wrigley with the distribution of 500,000 individual samples of the new Extra Refreshers ‘Bubblemint’ variety. Extra Refreshers is a new chewing gum that oozes with minty flavour, has a softer texture and bigger and better taste than ever before. Hundreds of thousands of consumers have been given the opportunity to try the product before buying, and the chances are that they won’t want to chew anything else after trying Extra Refreshers!

Following the success of this initial burst of Wrigley’s Extra Refreshers launch sampling, we are now looking forward to managing the forthcoming further distribution of over 1 million Extra Refreshers samples throughout August and September.
